Cardi B has overtaken foe Nicki Minaj in this year’s Grammy nominations.
The Bodak Yellow rapper, who has had a long-standing feud with Minaj, led the way for her competitors as she bagged five nominations off the back of 2018 album Invasion of Privacy, including Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Best Rap Album.
Despite Minaj releasing Queen in August, the record failed to make an appearance on the nominations list.
Fans were shocked by the news that Minaj didn’t land a single nod for the album, with one writing: “Wow Nicki Minaj isn't nominated but Cardi B is.”
Another commented: “The fact that Cardi B has four major Grammys nominations and Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj Eminem and so many other great artists are ignored... is disappointing. But am not surprised (sic).”
A third added: “Watch Cardi win a Grammy before Nicki, lol my girl Nicki ain't even nominated wtf... I'm upset.”
The news comes after Cardi B, real name Belcalis Almánzar, revealed she had split with husband Offset after a year of marriage and months after welcoming their first child.
The rapper posted a short clip to Instagram on Wednesday morning telling fans that she had “a lot of love for her baby daddy” but admitted things “hadn’t worked for a long time”.
The 25-year-old said: “So, everybody been bugging me and everything. And you know, I been trying to work things out with my baby father for a hot minute now."
She added that it may take time to get a divorce but they had “grown out of love” and split.More about: | Cardi B | Nicki Minaj
