Love Island winners Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham left fans heartbroken after they announced they have split.
The reality TV couple moved in together soon after they won the fourth series of the popular ITV2 show and even took their relationship to the next level by adopting a dog last month.
But Dyer, 22, confirmed the sad news that their relationship is over with an emotional post on her Instagram story on Thursday.
It read: “Jack & I have sadly decided to part ways. It’s been an incredible 6 months and we will always have a place in our hearts for each other but sadly, we have come to the realisation that it is not meant to be long term.
“We both plan to stay friends. I hope you’ll all understand. Love Dani x.”
With Dyer and Fincham no more, here’s all the loved up - and the not so loved up - couples from Love Island 2018.
Wes Nelson and Megan Barton Hanson
Wes Nelson and Megan Barton Hanson surprised viewers with their shock villa romance which saw Nelson dump Laura Anderson and Barton Hanson wave goodbye to Eyal Booker.
But despite the tumultuous start they appear to be stronger than ever, with Nelson constantly gushing over his other half on social media. Hanson also has a whole highlights reel on Instagram dedicated to the romance so things are looking positive.
Zara McDermott and Adam Collard
Proving forbidden romance could be the way forward is Zara McDermott and Adam Collard.
The couple got together on the show after Collard outraged the nation by making himself look like the ultimate mug after jumping ship from Kendall Rae-Knight to Rosie Williams to new interest McDermott.
But maybe it was all worthwhile as the couple are one of only three pairs to remain intact since exiting the villa, with Collard even getting a ‘Z’ tattoo in tribute to his other half.
Kaz Crossley and Josh Denzel
Josh Denzel made himself public enemy number two (after Adam Collard) when he pied off Georgia Steel in pursuit of Kaz Crossley, who from the get-go blew his mind.
But all seems happy in paradise as the couple regularly share loved up snaps online and frequently update fans on how strong their romance is.
Sam Bird and Georgia Steel
Bird and Steel were a mystery to viewers from the beginning, with their romance being put to the ultimate test when they were given the option to recouple in the house or leave together.
After eventually opting for the latter, Steel and Bird appeared to go all-in, moving in together within weeks of their villa exit. But things soon turned sour after the couple were forced to reveal they had split, leaving everyone’s favourite loyal babe Steel plagued with cheating allegations, - something she vehemently denies.
The romance has since fizzled out with fans unsure of what really caused the breakup.
Laura Anderson and Paul Knops
Anderson and Knops appeared to be the most realistic couple on their exit from the house, neither wanted to rush into moving in or force the process and both frequently told how they wanted to see if they could date in the real-world.
But despite there being good potential, the pair refused to label themselves “official” and after spending a month apart, failed to make the relationship work.
But things aren’t all sad as Anderson hinted she may have embarked on a new romance with former Love Island winner Max Morley, this time keeping it all out of the public eye.
Samira Mighty and Frankie Foster
Sadly, Mighty and Foster were the first couple to split amid cheating allegations.
Despite Mighty putting it all on the line for love and leaving the villa in a bid to be with Foster, the couple were plagued with split rumours soon after, with Foster being accused of cheating and not being “bothered” about her.
Charlie Brake and Ellie Brown
Brake and Brown’s relationship proved problematic from the moment they met with Brown accused of only being interested in the socialite’s money and lifestyle.
Following their exit, the couple shared a number of cosy snaps enjoying various luxurious getaways together.
But things soon fizzled out as the couple announced they had decided to “part ways” with a blunt statement in September.
Laura Crane and Jack Fowler
Crane’s time in the Love Island villa was short-lived after she entered the villa weeks after the main cast. But she managed to find romance with Fowler and raise a plastic baby with him.
They were dumped days before the final and have since gone their separate ways, after a two months of dating. They cited “busy schedules and not having the time to spend together”.
Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham
Dyer and Fincham had been the poster couple for the show over the last six months, appearing more in love than ever before. But the pair have since revealed they have called time on their relationship, but promised to remain friends.
The couple awkwardly appeared in an advert ahead of the Love Island Christmas reunion, just hours after their split announcement on Thursday. So if you’re craving a bit of Love Island nostalgia, that might be one to watch out for.More about: | Love Island | dani dyer | Jack Fincham | Laura Anderson | Paul Knops
